Does it matter what form of Vitamin D you take?

I am curious if the form of vitamin D is important, or the brand.Since starting to take it I have seen vitamin D in gel caps that look oily, and then there are powder gel caps and then solid pill forms. What is the difference? And is one form more effective than the other?

good question. Vitamin D is supplied in micrograms and milligrams, so most of what is present in your pills is filler. Gel caps, pills, etc should be more or less the same, although I prefer gel caps.

The important issue is to use vitamin D3 instead of vitamin D2. That particular form is more easily handled by your system.
